Champions for Christ Foundation, Inc. Our purpose is to assist students through a scholarship program those who are Christ’s servants called to follow Him, commissioned to share His word, dedicated to ministry, and leading others to Christ.

Facts

The Champions for Christ Foundation was established in 1986 by a member of City View First Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. The purpose of the foundation is to provide scholarships to students who endeavor to enter full time Christian service. In 1996 Champions for Christ became incorporated as a nonprofit corporation and in 1997 received 501c3 tax free exempt status from the IRS.

The money donated to the foundation is invested in government backed investments and the yield from the investments are awarded to deserving students as scholarship moneys. The principle will never be spent. The expense of operating the foundation is taken from the investment income and has always been less than 5%. The Champions for Christ Foundation began with a $50,000 gift in 1986. The fund has grown to over $1,500,000. The foundation has awarded over $1,200,000 in scholarships to students going into full time ministry.

With Gods’ help, Champions for Christ will provide financial aid for students entering full time Christian service until the Lord’s return. Over the years, Champions for Christ has grown from donations, estates, individuals, corporations, churches, and even recipients themselves.

Foundation Officers

Mac Snyder has served as Champions for Christ Foundation, Inc. mostly as the president since 1987 currently he is the Secretary.

Sheila M. Snyder has served as Vice President since 1986.

Michael J. McGuigan CPA is currently the Treasurer.

Steve Snyder has served Champions for Christ Foundation, Inc.. providing legal and other support for many years. He is currently the President.

Tim and Lisa Snyder have been board members for many years.

Steve and Gloria Hayes were original board members in 1986. They served several years and have rejoined the board.

Ray and Linda Cash joined the board in 2006.

Jim and Lisa Owen joined the board in 2006.

Tony and Ann Lynch have been board members for many years.

Shirley Black is currently our volunteer secretary.
